Born approximately 569 BCE in Samos Greece.

Died around 500 - 475 BCE in Metapontum Italy.

He loved to learn and travel.

He studied in Egypt with the priests in 535 BCE.

He was taken prisoner 10 years later when Persia invaded Egypt.

He got out and went back to Greece in 520 BCE.

This is where he founded a school called The Semicircle.

This school was devoted to studying philosophy and religion.

His followers, called the Pythagoreans, lived and worked at the school.
